The Heart to Heart clothing store in Baileyville provides gently used clothing and other necessities to local families at low or no cost. Store owner, Tammy Moody, enjoys a relationship with Woodland Jr./Sr. High School through students who volunteer at the store.
Tammy applied for a JOY grant to be able to offset the store’s operating costs – pay the utilities and keep the lights on so she could serve her customers for longer hours. And to her surprise, in addition to receiving Woodland’s JOY grant of $1000, she also received a truckload of hoodies that the students had collected, sensing that their peers who use the store might have more daily confidence dressed in a hoodie than in donated cardigans. The first annual Woodland Hoodie Drive? More than 150 collected from other JMG sites across the state!
