Portland High School Students VolunteerStudent Philanthropy Impacts Maine Economy
More than 31,000 Maine children were touched by grants made by Jumpstart Our Youth.  The 3,325 participating students in 61 JMG programs made 90 grants to nonprofits serving youtrh and families totaling $64,780.
 
The nonprofit organizations receiving funding ranged from after-school programs, food pantries, recreation facilities and domestic violence awareness.  Awards ranged from $100 to $1000.

Collectively, the JMG students volunteered 5,235 hours in their communities in 2010-11, successfully tying together the contributions of money, time and talent.
